October 27, 2013         National Park Service Volunteers

Volunteering in the wonderful National Parks of Porter County Indiana is a vital part of keeping the parks alive and maintained for the public to enjoy.  I visited the Bailly Homestead and Chellberg Farm on a beautiful fall afternoon and witnessed a volunteer hard at work in the gardens.  Both of these sites are part of the beautiful Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Plan a visit if you are in the area and walk the many trails available.  You won't be disappointed!

November 1, 2013         Fall Foliage

This year the fall colors have been amazing.  The warmer temperatures in October were great which allowed for lots of activities outside.  There are many other places to live in the United States, but this time of year you just can't beat Northwest Indiana.

December 29, 2013            Winter Birds

I watched several bluebirds at the bird feeder this morning.  They were so beautiful and one posed perfectly for me.

May 7, 2014                   Spring flowers

I am really appreciating Spring this year.  I think it's because of the hard winter we had.  I am so happy to go outside without a coat on and enjoy all the spring beauty!
